Life is full of daily challenges and overcoming them is termed "living". Yet there are some key challenges that can be a little difficult to deal with. When we encounter such issues, we tend to look for solutions, and most of these solutions are are advertised as drugs and products, which at times never work at all or solve the problems we are facing. Below are some products that never function as described or advertised.

1. ANTI-SNORING DEVICE

Snoring is a common problem that can cause disturbing circumstances among relatives, friends or acquaintances. There has been several attempts to relieve affected individuals without success with different approaches and methods. Then came the anti snoring devices with the promise of preventing snoring.

This particular design fails to deliver on it's advertised promise.

These particular type simply doesn't work in any way. Several reports by friends and relatives indicates the device doesn't function as expected. There are dozens of anti-snoring products out there, I haven't seen any that works so far except one electronic type we are still testing. Do not waste your money on these products.

2. NETWORK SIGNAL BOOSTER STICKER
These products promise to boost mobile phone network signals. They are simply stickers that nothing about nothing!

We tested several of them in Ghana, it was totally useless. It never  even  added half of a signal bar to our already poor signals.


3. REPLACEMENT ZIP SLIDER
The replacement zip sliders are meant to solve an ancient problem; to replace a broken or damaged one! They are designed to clip on to existing teeth and to be used as replacement slider with ease. It looked good, nice and impressive. We bought and tested it on a bag, though they look good in appearance, the clips beneath  that has to lock the sliders are very weak and kept opening once you try to move it across the teeth in order to close the opening. These device when properly designed will be a very good product that will solve a lot of problems with dresses. One thing to note is that they are made of plastic! I rather went buy a new slider to solve my problem. Do not waste money on this.

4. ULTRASONIC PEST REPELLENT
While a lot of retailing ads promised that this product will help repel insects and rodents within 100m radius, it seems most are totally ineffective on Ghanaian (if possible African) insects and rodents especially mosquitoes and mice.

It is either the device is not effective or the insects are totally resistant to the so called "ultrasonic" sound these devices produce. Though they claim to be environmentally friendly and do not harm the animals in any way, it will be advisable to look for a better way of controlling insects and rodents. All we tested failed completely, the mosquitoes were rather flying right above the device and kept biting us through the night. Another tester using it repel mice indicated that the mice we rather happy and moving freely by the device. This device is simply not worth it.


5. PORTABLE AIR COOLER
Due to the unbearable heat in most parts of Ghana, aeration and body cooling devices are products everyone will like to get. One catchy product is the portable air cooler which we tested to see how good it is compared to the normal standing and ceiling fans.

Just as we were thought that since it's a new tech, it will be able to deliver a better service than the aged standing fan and ceiling fan brothers, we were totally disappointed after testing it. It was totally ineffective and we sweated in heat throughout the testing period. The area covered by the limited air it was able to produce was small. This device is simply not worth it if you are in some parts of Africa.
